Recipe Review: Breakfast Smoothie

By My Professor

Ingredients

Before Blending

Overview

I came upon this recipe during an alumni event I was serving for. My professor made it for the alumnus to try whilst she did a demonstration. In my opinion, it was a good breakfast smoothie. Both the regular and vegan versions were good when we finished them.

Recipe

This recipe was from my professor

Ingredients

  • Frozen mixed berries

  • Kefir, low fat Greek yogurt, or plant-based yogurt

  • Frozen banana

  • Honey

  • Nut butter or chopped walnuts

  • Vanilla Extract

  • Cinnamon (optional)

Substitutions

  • I used coconut yogurt instead of kefir

Blending Process

What I Liked

  • Simply Instructions, made it easier to assemble the smoothie

  • It’s not too sweet, the flavor balances out well

  • Very refreshing smoothie

What I would Improve

  • I would put an extra banana in than honey to make it naturally sweeter

  • Adding little to no honey is good

  • Depending on the texture I would recommend gauging how much yogurt you put in to acquire desired texture.

Final Thoughts

Honestly this smoothie was better than I thought It was going to be. Making the vegan version in my opinion was better because I didn’t like the kefir that was used in the recipe. Otherwise, I highly recommend this recipe to start the day right.
